What’s on at the Club tomorrow
Tomorrow is our AGM. It is also hand in for Round 1 of the Mono Print Competition.
Next Thursday (19 October) is Round 1 of the Mono Print Competition to be judged by Paul Dunmall. It is also hand in for Round 2 of the PDI competition.
If you receive a score of 19 or 20 in any of our internal competitions, could you please send a pdi of the image to Greg webmaster@bromleycameraclub.org.uk for insertion in the Website.
Next Club Outing- Saturday 28 October

Selsdon Camera Club – Friday 13 October
George McCarthy FRPS is a wildlife and nature photographer and he will be giving his talk ‘The USA Road Trip’. George spent a year driving 30,000 miles across America in a Winnebago from Florida to California – taking in 20 States plus bits of Mexico and Canada taking wildlife and nature photographs. A diary of his journey appeared in Practical Photographer Magazine as a regular monthly feature. You can see some of George’s work on his website at www.georgemccarthy.com
Entry for visitors is £5 and includes refreshments. It’s a 7.30 for 7.45pm start at Selsdon Camera Club, The Methodist Halls, 102 Limpsfield Road, Sanderstead CR2 9EE (Opposite Majestic Wine)
The Chocolate Show at Olympia – Friday 13 to Sunday 15 October
Try chocolate specialties from across the world, including delicious ice cream, exquisite truffles and expertly made patisserie. Africa on the Square – Saturday 14 October – 12 noon -6:00pm
Get a taste of African culture in Trafalgar Square at the annual free event. Open to everyone, the festival features entertainment, food and fashion from across Africa in the iconic central London square. Catch live music from Yaaba Funk and other exciting bands, plus dance performances and a fashion show on the main stage. Browse the market stalls and sample African cuisine at the food stands. And get all the family involved with a range of free cultural activities.
Diwali (Festival of Lights) Sunday 15 October – Trafalgar Square 1:00pm to 7:00pm
Join thousands of people who come together to celebrate the Hindu, Sikh and Jain festivals.
Enthusiastically celebrated around the world, Diwali traditionally symbolises joy, love, reflection, resolution, forgiveness, light and knowledge; and represents the victory of good over evil, and light over darkness.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate the festival in Trafalgar Square. This year’s packed programme includes music and dance stage performances, family-friendly craft activities, yoga, henna art, and delicious food from India and beyond. In 2017 Diwali is celebrated on 19 October but will take place in Trafalgar Square on 15 October.
National Apple Festival at Brogdale – Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October
Discover Brogdale with over 2200 different apple varieties, find your favourites with ‘try before you buy’ apples and fill a bag to take home! Enjoy guided walking and tractor-trailer tours of the fruit filled orchards, horticultural talks, apple pressing demonstrations and a programme of cooking demonstrations are available all weekend.
