Free Photography Competition
Please see below email from Kate Ford, Communications Officer in the Education Team at the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
“At Gatsby, we are committed to strengthening science and engineering skills within the UK workforce. As you are likely aware, the UK has a shortage of technicians and without significant and sustained action this shortage will worsen in the coming decades, threatening our future economic prosperity.
We want to raise greater awareness of and create discussion on the importance of the technician workforce to a wider audience. As part of this, we are keen to shine a light on the talented technicians working in this country. See our campaign website: technicians.org.uk
To this end we have launched a free photography competition. The competition asks people to look around them and find something that technicians will have helped to make. This could be almost anything people see and use in their daily life, from their face wash, their trainers, architecture, horticulture, festivals, theatre, cars…. almost anything. To enter they just need to post the image on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #techniciansmakeithappen. A winner will be announced every month on social media who will receive £25 Amazon vouchers. An overall winner will win £1000 and career mentorship in 2017.
