Thursday Outside Meetings
Please note, images taken at any of the outings below can be used for the 2021/22 Kerri and Steinberger cups. Relevant images that you take during the evenings may also be used for the 2021 summer project if they fit the theme of “Anything Old and or Forgotten”.

Thursday 8 July – Summer Evening Floral Photography at Jeff’s House
Jeff has kindly agreed to let us photograph his garden. Meet from 7pm at Jeff’s house. The club will provide drinks and snacks for everyone. Please email Charlotte if you wish to join and haven’t already told her through WhatsApp.
Thursday 5 August – Keston Ponds/Common
Meet in the Keston Ponds car park at 7pm. Table(s) will then be booked at The Greyhound’s beer garden from 8pm (subject to space available!). Please email Charlotte if you wish to join and also let her know if you would like a place at the pub afterwards.
Saturday 7 August – Loxwood Joust, West Sussex
This weekend extravaganza features full-contact jousting twice each day, along with other daring displays of weaponry, archery and cannon fire as armoured knights prepare to meet in thunderous battle. Things to do in July
Landscape Photographer of the Year Exhibition (LPOTY)
The Exhibition celebrates the beauty of British landscapes and showcases the work of talented photographers of all ages and abilities.
The dates aren’t very clear but probably until 9 July. It’s on the main station concourse now, not on the upper walkway to Waterloo East where it was in earlier years.
London Zoo
The adult-only lates will be every Thursday and Friday in July, and the zoo will be open from 6pm-10pm, with the last entry at 9pm. In addition, apart from the general opening of the zoo later than normal, there will also be a bar and a number of add-on tours.
Evening entry to the zoo is £19.95 and tickets can be booked here.
The Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition including the bottled Butterbeer Bar, from 12 July.
Housed in the London Film Museum, which is just behind the London Transport Museum, the exhibition will show off hundreds of previously unseen photos from the making of the films. Not just the main films, but also the 2-part play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts, which is itself an exhibition at the Natural History Museum.
They recommend around an hour for a visit, and yes, personal photography is allowed inside.
Tickets range from £14 for children, £20 for adults, or £56 for families, and need to be booked in advance.
Tickets alert – Military Pomp at Horseguards Parade – evenings of Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 July.
On parade for a musical spectacular alongside the Band of the Honourable Artillery Company and the Band of the Royal Yeomanry, The Pipes & Drums of the London Regiment and the Corps of Drums of The Honourable Artillery Company.
Tickets to The Sword & The Crown – a Military Musical Spectacular range from just £5 for standing spaces, to £10 for a “bring your own chair” option, to £20-£35 for the terraced seating areas.
Tickets are now on sale for the Marble Arch Mound which officially opens on 26 July and will remain in place until next January.
The 25-metre high mound aims to offer elevated 360-degrees views down Oxford Street and into Hyde Park from a perspective not seen before, and be a lure to bring people back into the West End. Once people have been to the top, the tickets include entry into a hollowed-out space underneath the mound that will be used as a café, shop and exhibition space.
The opening hours vary depending on time of year, but generally from mid-morning until around late evening.
