Programme for the first few weeks
|Member presentations of the Summer Project Plus meet and greet with new/prospective members and hand in for Summer Star PDI competition
|“Summer Star” PDI competition Images taken over the summer break Judge – Paul Adams ARPS
|Annual General Meeting Hand in for colour print competition round 1
|Colour Print Competition Round 1 Judge – Steve Lawrenson ARPS, APAGB
|Presentation – “Mono Processing Live!” with Joe Houghton Hand in for PDI Competition Round 1
The October 7 presentation will be an interactive evening where Joe Houghton will edit members’ images live during the evening using Lightroom and possibly Silver FX Pro. We therefore need at least 12 members to each send 2 images to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The first image should be an original RAW file and the second should the same image that has been edited and converted to black and white as a final jpeg – this jpeg should ideally be an image that has been entered in a past PDI or print competition, although this isn’t compulsory. Joe will then apply his editing expertise to the original RAW file and compare his results to the members’ final images. Which hopefully will throw up some interesting comparisons, help members with their post processing in the future and promote some good discussion.

Whats on soon
Next month, Covent Garden will be filled with neon signs, as part of a display by the artist Chila Burman, who was also responsible for covering the Tate Britain in neon signs last Christmas.
Chila Burman will bring her vast neon sculptures into the building’s South Hall, transforming the space into a giant neon wonderland.
The installation will feature a distinctive floating neon octagon suspended from the centre of the Hall, sculptures of peacocks, tigers and snakes and bulls illuminating the space, plus words and collages throughout, all inspired by Burman’s Hindu Punjabi heritage.
