7 OctoberPresentation – “Mono Processing Live!” with Joe Houghton Hand in for PDI Competition Round 1

The October 7 presentation will be an interactive evening where Joe Houghton will edit members’ images live during the evening using Lightroom and possibly Silver FX Pro. We therefore need at least 12 members to each send 2 images to: programsec@bromleycameraclub.org.uk. The first image should be an original RAW file and the second should the same image that has been edited and converted to black and white as a final jpeg – this jpeg should ideally be an image that has been entered in a past PDI or print competition, although this isn’t compulsory. Joe will then apply his editing expertise to the original RAW file and compare his results to the members’ final images. Which hopefully will throw up some interesting comparisons, help members with their post processing in the future and promote some good discussion.

Joyce Smith

Peter has sent me an email to let me know that Joyce passed away at home on the 8th July after a prolonged illness with dementia. Peter and Joyce were long standing members of BCC, Peter being the editor of the “Viewfinder” for many years and Joyce as an outings secretary.

The funeral will be on 3rd August 3.00pm at Bluebell Cemetery, Halstead TN14 7AE.  Afterwards they will be celebrating her life at the Five Bells in Chelsfield. Peter has sent his regards to all members and has kindly said we are all welcome to join them.

Congratulations

to Peter Milton who has been awarded Licentiate of the RPS. If you would like to see his panel its on the Club’s Facebook page.

Whats on soon

Next month,  Covent Garden will be filled with neon signs, as part of a display by the artist Chila Burman, who was also responsible for covering the Tate Britain in neon signs last Christmas.

Chila Burman will bring her vast neon sculptures into the building’s South Hall, transforming the space into a giant neon wonderland.

The installation will feature a distinctive floating neon octagon suspended from the centre of the Hall, sculptures of peacocks, tigers and snakes and bulls illuminating the space, plus words and collages throughout, all inspired by Burman’s Hindu Punjabi heritage.
