What’s on at the Club tonight.

Tonight is Round 3 of the Colour Print Competition to be judged by John Hill.

Next week (18 February) is a presentation by Paul Adams entitled “From Atlanta to New Orleans”. It is also hand in for Round 3 of the Monochrome Print Competition.

 

 

What’s on this weekend and soon

  • Beckenham Photographic Society’s Annual Exhibition at Beckenham Public Halls, Bromley Road, Beckenham, BR3 5JE.  The exhibition includes more than 100 prints and over 60 digital images and is open on Thursday 18 February (11am – 8pm), Friday 19 February (10am – 8pm) and Saturday 20 February (10am – 5pm).
  • “Out There” now on at the East Wing Gallery of Somerset House featuring pioneering artists including Elisabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore all feature in Historic England’s first major exhibition which traces the story of England’s fascinating yet forgotten national collection of public art from 1945-85. Out There runs until 10 April
  • “Vogue 100” at the National Portrait Gallery from 11 February. Tickets with donation: £19. (Concessions £17.50). It wouldn’t be ‘Vogueland’ without Shrimpton and Moss, Bailey and Beaton, but this new exhibition of Vogue images will also offer a long record of British life, from Woolf to Winterson, Bowie to Beckham
  • “A Beautiful World” on at South Quay Plaza, 189 Marsh Wall, E14 9SR. Saturday 13 to Wednesday 17 February, open daily from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Free entry. A Beautiful World features the work of 19 photographers who have been moved by our beautiful world enough to document it in all its glory. More info at www.thephotographicangle.co.uk
  • Chinese New Year –  If you’re not too busy celebrating soppy stuff on February 14 you might like to welcome in the Year of the Monkey at this massive Chinese New Year celebration, which will fill most of the West End with music, acrobatics, activities and pyrotechnics. A grand parade featuring ten lion dance teams will set of from Trafalgar Square at 10am, weaving its way up to the buzzing heart of Chinatown. On Wardour Street and Gerrard Street you’ll find craft stalls, Chinese food stands and more traditional dance, plus a stage on Shaftesbury Avenue will host local up-and-coming talent. The acts on stage in Trafalgar Square start at 12 noon.
