Lots happening including the Harbour Food Fair taking place on both weekends of the festival for the first time from 10:00am.There will be live music from the Shuck and the Beach Stage and there will also be a Buskers Stage between 11:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday July 23, and an open mic stage outside the library between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Visitors should not miss the famous Landing of the Oysters at Long Beach this Saturday at 4:45pm followed by the Seafood Parade with schoolchildren showing off their seafood-themed creations and music from Whitstable’s samba band and the town’s native marching band.
But there’s more – from the Whitstable Beer Festival to the oyster eating contest, mud tug and blessing of the water and don’t forget the fireworks at 9:00pm on Sunday 31 July at Horsebridge Beach. We went there on a camera club outing many years ago and, apart from the downpour while the fireworks were on, it was a good day out. However, enthusiasts are very welcome to meet up with them to view and photograph the buses at the start of the run in Hyde Park and along the route.
