What’s on at the Club tonight

Tonight is the last meeting before the summer break and is the briefing for this year’s Summer Project. Steve will also give a brief talk on focus stacking.

 

Next Camera Club Outing – Sunday 8 May

The wildlife outing this Sunday will be at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve. Meet at the visitor centre at 10:00am.

 

Annual Exhibition

The Annual Exhibition at Bromley Central Library will run from 16 to 28 May and the Awards Evening will be at the Library (4th floor) on Thursday 19 May at 7.15pm for 7.30pm. We need stewards for the Exhibition and raffle prizes for the Awards Evening so this evening please bring along any suitable prizes you may have and fill in a slot or two on the Stewards’ Roster.

On 19 May, the Mayor of Bromley will present the prizes to the competition and exhibition winners, exhibition judge Clive Tanner will comment on selected images and the evening will end with drinks and nibbles. Please make an effort to attend this always enjoyable event and friends and family are most welcome.

 

Camera Club Outing to Windsor and Savill Garden

There are 3 places left on the coach outing to Windsor and Savill Garden on Saturday 18 June. Cost of transport is £25 per person. If you wish to go please confirm and pay this evening.

Westminster Morris Men, Day of Dance – Saturday 7 May

Morris dancers from across England will be entertaining shoppers in Central London from 2-5pm on 7 May. Watch the dancers perform at The Wellington, Wellington Street; Adelaide Street; Waterloo Place; Glasshouse Street; Gerrard Street and Victoria Embankment, before a massed display of dancing in Trafalgar Square at 5:00pm. Morris dancing is a traditional dance associated with the start of May.

 

Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival – Sunday 8 May Starts at 11:00 am

See a traditional Punch & Judy show at this popular festival in the garden of St Paul’s Church to celebrate the first sighting of Mr. Punch in England by Samuel Pepys in May 1662. The day begins at 11.00am with a procession around Covent Garden led by a brass band. From 12.30pm to 5.30pm, there will be Punch & Judy shows, puppet workshops, stalls, folk music and maypole dancing

 

Carshalton Camera Club Annual Exhibition – Saturday 14 May from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Carshalton Methodist Church, Ruskin Road, Carshalton SM5 3DE. Tom Brake MP who will present The Roy King Trophy for the panel, which he considers to be the Best Themed Panel in the Exhibition, will open the Exhibition at 11:00am.

 

Carters Steam Fair – Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May at Imperial War Museum

Carters operates and maintains a large collection of rides and side stalls, ranging in date from the late 19th century to the 1960s, and every season they’re travelled with vintage heavy lorries and traditional showman’s living wagons.

 

SLF Finals Day

Congratulations to Andy Cladingboel whose PDI entitled “Another Monday Morning” was awarded the Jacks Jug at the finals day.
