Reminder

Hand in for Round 3 Colour Prints on Thursday.

Do you like quizzes?

If the answer is yes, why not support the Mayor of Bromley’s Charity Appeal by attending his Quiz Evening to be held at the Great Hall, Bromley Civic Centre on Friday 8 February.  Teams are a maximum of 6 and so far we have 7 interested people so if anyone else would like to make up our second team please either e-mail me or let me know on Thursday.  It is good fun, supper is included (usually jacket potatoes with cheese, sausage and baked beans).  There is also a bar and the usual raffle.  Tickets are £12.00 each.

The Next Club Outing

Will be to view the Ansel Adams Exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich on Saturday 9 February 2013.  There are over 120 iconic images on show at the Exhibition entitled Photography from the Mountains to the Sea.  Greenwich also has lots to offer the photographer, e.g. the Cutty Sark, several markets, the Royal Observatory, the Queen’s House, etc.  Entry to the Exhibition is £7 but we may be able to get a group rate of £5.00.  I’ll put a note about the visit on the Notice Board on Thursday with details of where to meet etc.

Photographic Exhibition

The Royal Photographic Society Visual Art Group Members’ Exhibition is now showing at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon until 27 January.  Three of our members who are in the Group have had prints accepted.  They are “Rapid Departure” by Peter Ergis, “Merchant’s House, Karaikkudi, Tamil Nadir” by David Pollard and “Water World” by Laurie Scott.

Miscellaneous

Amberley Publishing are currently looking for new or experienced local authors to contribute to their exciting Through Time series of local history books.  They are particularly interested in producing ‘Bromley Through Time’, though they will consider other proposals also.

The Through Time concept is a ninety-six page book, containing around ninety old photographs, each paired with a new photograph in full colour, to show how the same scene, or a related one, has changed over time. Each pair of photographs has a short descriptive caption.

If you are interested in producing this kind of material for them please let Lauren Newby, Junior Commissioning Editor (l.newby@amberley-books.com) 01453 847801 know, he will also supply any further information as required.
