What’s on at the Club tomorrow

Tomorrow is Round 1 of the Colour Print Competition to be judged by Kirsty RalfsARPS

Next week (Thursday 10 October) is a presentation by Paul McElroy entitled “London by Day and Night”.

On Saturday 12 October an outing has been organised, which is designed for members to use some skills/inspiration gained from the presentation by Paul McElroy on the previous Thursday. We’ll meet at 4:00pm at Waterloo; spend some time around the Southbank catching the sunset (18:14) and then head East along the river to see the newly lit bridges (Southwark, Millennium, Cannon Street, London) by blue hour/night. Please email Matt (matt_teager@me.com) if you’d like to join this outing.

Thursday 17 October will be presentations by BCC members. Firstly Mohmed Besnik will be showing images entitled “Travels in Bosnia”, followed by “A Photographic Mix” presentation by Vera Stevens.

It is also hand in PDIs for Round 1.

It’s Subs Time Again

The new season has started and its subs time. The full sub is £60 again this year. The renewal form can be downloaded from the web site. Jeff (our Treasurer) is happy to receive a cheque but for those wishing to pay by on line banking the details are as follows:

Bromley Camera Club a/c. 42292212, sort code 60-04-02. Ref your name. We bank with NatWest.

Phone Only Competition – 7 November

Normal rules apply, i.e. maximum of 3 images, max size 1400 x 1050 pixels and it will be a one-class competition.

Camera Club News – please see e-mail from John Hackett (020 8464 8221)

My Epson Stylus Photo 1400, is not at present fully operational, I am completely bereft of

any technical capability, so wonder if a BCC member would like to take a look at it and

hopefully get it up and running, for themselves. It takes A3 paper size, I can supply some

sheets to that size. The 1400 has a full set of colour cartridges, plus Magenta and Black

cartridges unopened.  If nobody wants to take on bringing the R1400 back to life,

I can supply the colour cartridges in the unit plus Magenta, Black and paper if any

members use the Epson Photo Stylus 1400.

Next Camera Club Outing

Birmingham Day Trip: Christmas Markets and Walking Tour – Saturday 23 November 2019

Free but please book your own train tickets (currently there are plenty of cheap tickets available from nationalrail.co.uk for around £15 to £30 return so it’s worth booking early!)

Catch the 9.23 train from Euston to Birmingham New Street (other, slightly longer options are available from Marylebone to Birmingham Snow Hill so please meet us at New Street Station at 10.50am if you choose one of these). It’s then up to you what time you leave Birmingham – trains back to London run until around 10pm.

When we get to Birmingham, there are two possible walking tour options: a City Centre Walk or a Digbeth Graffiti Walk. We can decide as a group which we’d prefer to do, divide into two groups or do both if we have time and are feeling active! Afterwards, there will be time to spend at Birmingham’s Christmas Markets: the largest German market outside of Germany/Austria.

Please book your own train tickets but let Charlotte know that you’re joining this outing too.

Further planned outings can be found at the end of this Newsletter.
