CORRECTION Hi folks, I’d missed the message about the submission deadline for the next competition changing, so here is an updated newsletter. On the 5th of February, we are holding the third round of the Colour PDI competition. The submission deadline for this competition has been brought forward to the 1st of February. This is because we are using AI to judge this competition and are wanting extra time to vet its feedback. As the previous version of the newsletter was a little threadbare, there are a few extra bits thrown into it now too.
THIS WEEK AT THE CLUB Landscape Photography: Capturing the Beauty of Nature 29th January Led by Vera Stevens Imparting some of her extensive knowledge, Vera will be teaching us what to look for and how to get the most out of our nature photography.
CROYDON CENTENARY TROPHY Shirley Methodist Church Hall, CR0 8SD 7.45pm, 18th March Judged by Andy Smith The inter-club competition, held by Croydon Camera Club, is in its 36th year. It’s a great opportunity to see what others are up to as well as get to know the wider South London photography community. 8 clubs all together have been invited to compete. There will be two rounds – PDI and print – with each club able to enter 4 images into each round. If you have an image yourself, or would like to nominate somebody else’s, which you think would bring Bromley glory, then let us know. Julie will be in charge of the final selection.
UPCOMING MEETINGS Colour PDI Competition, Round 3 5th February Judged by AI Maximum of three images can be submitted via PhotoEntry. The submission deadline is the 1st of February. We will be using an AI programme to judge this competiton to test its feedback and compare it to people-judges. 🙂 Wildlife and Photography Tours by ‘Everything But Ordinary‘ 12th February Led by Greg Gillies
