What’s on at the Club tonight and soon
Tonight is Round 3 of the PDI competition, which will be judged by Jeff Royce. Next week will be a member’s evening in two parts. The first half will be Angela and Roger Ford’s prints from their exhibition Movement and Moment, People and Places. The second half will be a projected image talk/discussion entitled ‘Impressions of Arles 2013’ based on Angela and Roger’s visit to the Recontres d’Arles, which is a month long celebration of photography held each year.
Next week is also hand in for the Kerri Cup competition. This is a one class competition for prints which have been taken on a Club outing which have not been shown on previous Steinberger or Kerri Cup competitions. You are allowed to enter 4 images which must have been taken during the last 14 months. By way of reminder the eligible dates are 9 February 2013 (Greenwich), 13 April (Hadlow College), 6 July (Dungeness), 18 July (Jeff King’s garden), 11 August (Autumn Walk and Meal), 19 October (Hastings) 16 February (London visit to Exhibitions). You may also enter photos taken for the Summer Project last year.
RPS Licentiateship Assessment Panel
Roger Ford has recently been appointed as an assessor on the RPS Licentiateship Assessment Panel. Part of his role is to encourage photographers to obtain Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society and offer advice on how to do so. Roger would like to offer this facility to BCC members and he will make an announcement about this at our meeting on 20 February.
Photography Exhibitions
Beckenham Photographic Society's Annual Exhibition at Beckenham Public Hall, Bromley Road, Beckenham BR3 5JE. The Public Hall is near Beckenham Junction station, opposite St George's Church. The exhibition begins on Wednesday 19 February at 8 p.m. with the presentation of awards by the judge, Marie-Ange Bouchard ARPS, and is also open on Thursday 20th (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Friday 21st (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday 22nd February (10 a.m. to approx 5 p.m.).
Hailsham Photographic Society Colour Show at Hailsham Community Hall, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, BN27 2AX. (Entrance next to Freedom Leisure Centre) on Friday 7 March at 7.30 pm and Saturday 8 March at 2.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Tickets £5.00 from 01323 845569,The Camera Centre, Hailsham or The Nodding Cobbler, Hailsham. The Colour Show is an audio visual event where members produce sequences of projected images mostly set to music. A donation from ticket sales is presented to their chosen charity, MS Family Support. There is also a prize raffle and refreshments in the interval.
