16 March – Kerri and Steinberger Cup Competitions

These are one-class competitions. The Steinberger cup is awarded for the best PDI taken on a club outing and the Kerri Cup for the best print taken on a club outing. You can enter 3 prints and 3 PDIs.  Both competitions will be judged by Glyn Bareham. The qualifying events are:

Panel Competition

6 April is fast approaching. So time to get together your panel of 3 to 5 prints on the theme of food and drink.  This is a one-class competition, prints can be any size and you can even mount several prints on one piece of card. You can enter more than one panel if you wish.

Further to Steve Jones’ e-mail of 16 February if you have any prints you wish to enter if you bring them to the Club next Thursday (2 March) Steve will deliver them to a drop-off point.

What’s on this weekend and soon

The RPS Visual Art Group Exhibition

Now on at the Croydon Library, Katherine Street, Croydon CR9 1ET and until 11 March.

Opening hours are: 9:00am Monday-Wednesday and Friday and Saturday, 9.30am Thursday

Closing times are: 7:00pm Monday, 6:00pm Tuesday-Friday and 5:00pm Saturday

Entry is free and it is being held in the new gallery space inside the main entrance of Croydon Library. Do come along – you will have the opportunity to see some work of some photographers who will be very familiar to you.

 

Mardi Gras Brixton – Saturday 25 February

Grab your beads and get in on the New Orleans action at Mardi Gras Brixton. This all day, all night (ish) festival will kick off with Louisiana-themed food, a parade soundtracked by the BYOB brass band and a piano blues set from Dom Pipkin and The Iko’s. The Deep South is on its way to SW9.

 

PHASE Worldwide – 22 to 26 February  

Presents a beautiful and inspiring photography exhibition highlighting the culture, hopes and energy of the charity PHASE works with in isolated Nepalese villages. This colourful and dynamic exhibition is particularly pertinent almost two years following the devastating earthquake in Nepal where many people lost their homes and families.

Now on at gallery@oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, South Bank SE1 9PH. Opening Times: 11.00am – 8.00pm. Free
