Things to do/see this coming weekend

Open Weekend at Upminster Windmill – Saturday 6th and Sunday 7 April – 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Upminster Windmill was built by James Nokes, a local farmer, in 1803. It is a Grade II* listed building and in terms of quality, completeness and significance it is widely considered to be amongst the very best remaining English smock mills.

The Friends of Upminster Windmill give visitors FREE conducted tours of this 200-year-old windmill, which has most of its original wooden machinery in place. On a windy day the sails and the cap can turn.

Lambing Day at The Woodlands Farm Trust, 31 Shooters Hill, DA16 3RP – Sunday 7 April – 11.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

For adults and children alike.  Come and see the newborn lambs, and enjoy the chance to buy quality local produce at reasonable prices, including home-made preserves, cakes and honey. Relax in the café, enjoy the treasure hunt or get involved in craft activities.

Entry is £1 for adults and 50p for children, and all proceeds go towards caring for the animals.
