Things to see/do this weekend
Hackney WickED Art Festival – Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August – Free
This 3 day festival champions creativity through exhibitions, open studios, performance, film, art fetes, music, theatre, workshops, talks, tours etc. Easiest to go to their website (www.hackneywicked.co.uk/programme) to see the full list of venues as it is happening all over the place.
Fireworks at Crystal Palace – Sunday 18 August starts at 9.50 p.m.
A firework finale will conclude an evening of Proms music in the park, the music is by ticket only but the fireworks will be visible to anyone in the area.
Bears in the Wood – If you go down to Chislehurst you’re in for a big surprise! Bears, fish and a wooden waterfall are now permanent fixtures on the path linking Chislehurst and Walden Recreation Grounds, access off Empress Drive. The bear bench will take centre stage at next month’s Chislehurst Rocks festival.
Photographic Exhibitions
Rye and District Camera Club are holding their 25th Annual Print Exhibition at St. Mary’s Centre, Lion Street, Rye on Saturday 14 September – 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Admission free.
