Shamil Tanna: Encore

Encore is the new exhibition from award-winning photographer Shamil Tanna. The images capture artists the moment directly after they have stepped off stage following a performance and features the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Brandon Flowers, Gary Numan and Mark Ronson amongst others. Photographed over several years, Encore is an on-going project that Shamil has shot at various music venues and festivals across the UK. The aim of the project is to capture the raw emotion of a live stage performance through a simple portrait taken within seconds of the artist leaving the stage. This unique project offers a rare view into the world of musicians by showing the emotional and physical effects that a live performance can have on them. It captures the elation, euphoria, and adrenaline of the moment. Encore offers its audience an intriguing and previously unseen view of the world’s favourite artists and rising stars.
